More tickets will be released September 1. \nAshley Shandrel Luther\, better known to her fans as Elly Mayday\, was a Canadian model and body-positivity influencer. To us at FYL\, she was a model\, muse and dear friend. \nWhen she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at 25\, she used her popularity and influence to quickly become an advocate for women’s health. Encouraging women to get to know and listen to their own bodies\, Elly made it her mission to help women advocate for their own health and bring awareness to Ovarian Cancer\, dubbed the silent killer of women. It is called that because there is no screening test for Ovarian Cancer and often by the time women have a biopsy to diagnose it\, they are at a late stage of the disease. Sadly\, after a 5 year battle with Ovarian Cancer\, Elly passed away on March 1\, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. \nIt was Elly’s dream to host a high tea event that raised awareness for this disease that there is no test for and raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Canada to help with research into creating an early screening test. When we were approached to help Ashley’s dream come to fruition by hosting this event in her memory after she passed\, we were honored and agreed immediately. \nPlease join us for an afternoon high tea and enjoy a salon-style fashion show featuring fashions from FYL\, New World Designs and Cherry Velvet from your seats. The modeled outfits can be bid on auction style at the event though Instagram (so make sure you download Instagram if you don’t already have it). We have some amazing silent auction items that will be available to be bid on. \nWe will share some of our favorite memories of Elly and a guest speaker from Ovarian Cancer Canada will also speak about signs\, symptoms and the importance of early detection. \n100% of all money raised from this event will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Canada in memory of Elly.
